Failure Analysis
Despite best efforts, occasionally components fail in service due to inadequate design considerations or because they were subjected to stresses or environments in excess of original design limitations.
Despite best efforts, occasionally components fail in service due to inadequate design considerations or because they were subjected to stresses or environments in excess of original design limitations. The key is to understand why the part failed and how to prevent the same outcome in the future. A failure analysis investigation is required to address these concerns. PES failure analysis engineers have the experience and tools necessary to determine the mode of failure, the factors that support that mode, and, with additional discussions/investigations with customers, hopefully, the root cause for failure. Failure analyses are often multi-discipline investigations, employing aspects of metallurgical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, and physics to resolve events and conditions that caused failure.
