Meet The PES Admin Team

Walt joined PES in 2001 as VP of Operations. In 2005, he took over as President/Owner. He has a B.S. in Metallurgy from Penn State University (1990). Walt has over 30 years of testing knowledge and business experience.

Fun Fact: Walt's little league team from North Braddock, PA, won the state championship in 1979 and missed a trip to the World Series (Williamsport, PA) by one game.

Mike has been with PES since 2008 and has more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing and quality. Mike oversees the day-to-day operations at PES and also focuses on the culture and development of the team and team members. In 2013, he became part owner of PES. He has a B.S. Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, M.S. Engineering Management, Robert Morris University.

Malcolm Gladwell 

Mic has been with PES since 2012, and has more than 20 years of experience in distributor and professional services sales. Mic oversees the day-to-day Sales and Marketing operations with a focus on customer service. He has a B.A. Finance, from Mercyhurst University. Outside of work, Mic enjoys spending time with his family and is always up for a round of golf.

Fun Fact: Most people don't know his first name is actually Michael.

Tom is the Technical Director of Materials Testing at PES. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Mechanical Lab, which consists of tensile, impact, stress/creep rupture, fracture, and fatigue testing. He is a mechanical engineer by education and has been working in the mechanical testing field since 1987. Tom has a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering Technology - Univ. of Pittsburgh Johnstown and an M.Sc. Project Management - Boston University.

Elon Musk

Jerry is the Technical Director of Metallurgy at PES. With a curiosity and passion for problem-solving, Jerry Started his career in 1995 as a co-op student for United States Steel - Mon Valley Works. He obtained his undergrad in Materials Science and Engineering in 1998 from the University of Pittsburgh and went on to earn his Master's Degree in the same field from the University of Florida. In 2015, he joined PES where he is responsible for the Metallographic and Chemistry Laboratories, Failure Analysis Group, and Heat Treatment Area. Jerry has been a member of several technical organizations over the years (AMS, IMS, ASTM, AIST), and has authored or co-authored multiple papers, including the IMS 2018 Best Paper Award.

Favorite Person He's Never Met: His great-great-grandmother. "I have been told many stories about what a wonderful woman she was. I was born on her birthday, but never had the opportunity to meet her." 

Nate has worked in the Materials Testing industry for over 11 years, starting in Calibration and Metrology and moving into his current role of Quality Manager. When not in the lab, Nate can be found at the Indiana Ice Rink, coaching players ranging from age 8 and under, all the way to the college level for Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

His favorite times are coaching his twin children and seeing them have fun on the ice. 

Nicole has been with PES since 2010. She holds a B.S. from Penn State University. In her role of Client Relationship Manager, she is committed to continuing to strengthen the relationships with our clients and provide excellent customer service and support through completion of each work project.
